I'm raising money for Stowmarket & District Lions Club by participating in their Suffolk villages charity bike ride. Although I'm only doing their 'family fun' distance of 25km (about 15 miles), it's still further than I've ever cycled before. In fact, as I've hardly been on a bike for over 15 years, it's likely to kill me. So, if you want to encourage some overweight middle aged bloke to have a heart attack, chuck some money in and it will at least go towards my recuperation (hopefully). Otherwise, if you just want to feel good about yourself by donating money to local charities, chuck some in anyway. Finally, if you don't like helping others, just try it this once - you might find you like it. Covers all bases there, I think.
