Story
Thank you for reading my page!
I am swapping planning for running to participate in the Great North Run on September 12, 2021, to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
I will be joining over 57,000 determined runners in one of the world’s biggest and best half marathons, which takes place in Newcastle and includes crossing the Tyne River over the famous Tyne Bridge.
I initially aim to raise over £1,000 for St Catherine’s Hospice from the run. St Catherine's provides palliative and end-of-life care and support for the people of Central Lancashire, through their specialised services at the hospice and in people’s own homes. They are here to help people facing life-shortening conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure to enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life. It costs more than £5m to run the charity every single year and they rely on the amazing efforts and wonderful generosity of supporters like you to help us raise the funds we need.
St Catherine’s Hospice is a place that will always remain in my heart. I’m delighted to have the opportunity once again to raise funds for this very special charity, while at the same time indulging in my love of running – although my thoughts on the latter may be different by the time I reach the finishing line!
