Story
Lots of good people raise money for good causes so I'm adding extra spice for donations. If I hit my target before the marathon weekend, I'll get go faster lightning stripes shaved in the side of my head. I'm 33 and work in Finance. This won't look good.

Multiple Sclerosis is shit. It destroys nerve cells and can affect anything, it's called multiple for a reason. My Mom was at the top of her game as the Head Teacher of a large urban Primary School, with a proven track record of coaching staff into senior management.
MS took that from her and the teaching profession and it continues to take more and more of her life but she battles on. She's my hero and consigliere.
I got into running when Mom was diagnosed 10 years ago. I hated every run and my first race even more. It didn't take long for me to sign up for another one, wanting to better my last. You can always be faster or run further.
In 2013 I ran too much and double fractured my ankle through over training. When I started running again, it kept reoccurring. I had endless physio that culminated in a high end sports doctor on Harley Street telling me to give it up. My friends and family echoed the advice, I was in a dark place.
I rested and I sulked and I eventually came to a decision. Nah mate.
Over a year of 5.30am alarms for the gym before work for tedious strength training exercises. I then built up from children's weights to lifting my own body weight whilst building fitness through spinning and rowing.
I finally got back up to 19miles in February 2017 then suffered a slipped disc from spending too long sat at my desk working ugh so had to defer again.
It’s funny, I bump into a mate at my pilates class now that I see to see at parties. Pilates > parties. It’s made all the difference.
It’s been a long bumpy road back but we're looking good now for April 22nd. We’ll be having MANY beers afterwards, details to come.
Thank you for the support
