Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 21st April 2013 I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for two eye charities: QEHB Eye Appeal and Sight for East Africa. This is the page for the QEHB Eye Appeal.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmigham (QEHB) Eye Appeal is raising funds for three new pieces of equipment to improve our care of local Birmingham patients with retinal disease, the leading cause of blindness in the UK. Two of the new instruments are "Spectralis OCT"s which will allow us to examine the retina (the light-sensitive part of the eye which allows us to see) in greater detail than ever before, enabling early diagnosis and more accurate monitoring of these diseases. The third instrument is a pattern scanning laser which allows faster, more comfortable treatment for patients with retinal diseases related to conditions like diabetes.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We are very grateful for your support.
