Story
On 1st February 2011 I successfully completed an ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, reaching the snow-capped summit, Uhuru Peak, at 5,896 meters / 19,340 feet.
Although this marked the achievement of a personal goal the primary reason for the climb was and still is to raise funds for Destiny of a Child, a charity that helps profoundly deaf children in need of cochlear implantation in the UK and France, and also two Tanzanian schools supporting Aids orphan projects. Every penny that I raise will go to support these worthy causes.
Although I have completed the climb it would be great to maximise the donation to these causes and I encourage anyone reading this to give generously. Many thanks.
