Story
Thank you for visiting my 100 Miles in a Month fundraising page. Your support here will help make a life-saving difference to patient care here at The Mater Hospital.
You may be asking yourself why am I taking on this challenge? You are not the only one, I have asked myself exactly the same thing.
I am extremely proud to lead The Mater Hospital, one of the most respected institutions in our country. Every day I am privileged to work alongside the most incredible people. This past year we have all faced a challenge like no other in our lifetime. The way in which my colleagues have risen to this challenge has been truly inspiring.
When I learned that so many of them were taking on the additional challenge of the Mater Foundation's 100 Miles in a Month throughout February, I just knew I had to join them.
100 Miles in a Month is a virtual running challenge. The funds raised from it have helped to equip entire new units in The Mater Hospital, as well as provide world-class surgical care through robotic technology. The February 2021 challenge will help us to continue to transform our hospital and provide the very best care for every person who relies on us.
I know the next 28 days are not going to be easy, but I am determined to complete this challenge. I join a huge group of extraordinarily dedicated Mater Hospital staff, who are going the extra miles for patient care on top of their existing work during this pandemic. Now that's dedication and I am so proud to be part of this team.
All donations and support here are hugely welcome and appreciated!
Thank you.
