Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
My name is Alan Rutherford and I'm all set to cycle the 2009 Macmillan Cancer Support Etape Caledonia, the UK's only mass participation closed road cycling event on 17 May. The route is 81 miles long and training is going very well, with 3 cycle rides per a week.
Alan, says: "Services such as Macmillan are so important for the well-being of those affected by cancer.
"I'm predicting it'll take me somewhere in the region of five-and-a-half to six hours to complete the cycle event. Training for it is not all about steady cycling and building up the miles though. I'm throwing in sprinting and hill climbing to try and increase my stamina too. The miles are building up so on the day I'll be raring to go. The saying goes, 'train hard and on the day it will be easy' - I hope!"
