Story

[Alan's latest update was made below having completed the Paris Marathon on Sunday 10 April]

Job done - and well inside my 4 hour target - so I'm delighted!

I 'enjoyed' the sites of Paris on a very warm marathon morning and completed the course in 3hr 38 mins.  I could tell you that I took it all in my stride, enjoyed the sites and finished strongly but that would mask some of the less comfortable moments in the latter stages!  I saw people bouncing off 'the wall' and so managed to creep around the edge of it - just!

Thanks to your help we have raised over £3000 (there are more pledges of support still to come in).  It's worth me putting that into perspective; your generosity has funded 3 nurses for nearly a month.  On behalf of Macmillan, thank you very much.  It makes it all worth while.

You will not be shocked to hear that I've enjoyed a few beers and glasses of wine since finishing!  You should have run with me dad, it would have blown any cancer straight out of those lungs!
