Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, my name is Alana Wilkinson and i am currently in my last year of high school at West Calder High School in Livingston. In December 2009 I was selected by Project Trust to spend a life changing year overseas as a volunteer teaching English as a language in schools and colleges. 

Project trust (www.projecttrust.org.uk) is an education charity based on the Hebridean Isle of Coll, and since being founded in 1967 they have sent over 5,500 volunteers overseas to 24 different countries!

Project Trust's main philosophy is to provide young people with an opportunity to understand a community overseas by immersing themselves in it; living and working there for a year. All their projects are vetted for their suitability for volunteers, and none deprive local people of work.

In 2010 i will hopefully be traveling to China to work and live for a year, but to do this i must first raise £4,880!

To raise this money i will embark on many sponsored events including a pajama walk, dress down days at my high school, cake sales and other events!
