A personal message from Alan Whittaker
On 1 May 2011 I am going to begin an umpteen-hundred mile bike ride to Szekesfehervar near Budapest. It is the 20th Anniversary of Chorley's twinning with Szekesfehervar, which was at one time the place where Hungarian Kings were crowned.
The ride should take me about 5 or 6 weeks, and will take me on a route from Chorley through - Hull - Rotterdam - Holland - Germany - Czech Republic - Budapest - arriving in Szekesfehervar.
One of the charities I am rasing money for is Help the Homeless Chorley. This is a local charity which provides a range of much needed services including advice, support, early intervention and prevention services for the homeless, and those at risk of homelessness.
I would be delighted if you would sponsor me. All the money raised on this page will go directly to Help the Homeless Chorley.
I hope you can help.
Sincerely,
Alan Whittaker
