Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2009 I was on Mont Blanc and was beaten back a few hundred metres from the summit which was just a little frustrating! (Although to retreat at that time was the right decision as we were in a blizzard and a total 'white out'.)
I'm going back in June 2011 (by which time i'll be a 65 year old pensioner!) as I have a little 'unfinished business' with that particular mountain. My climbs in Argentina and Russia have helped me raise in excess of £30k for Cancer Research UK since I began high altitude climbing to raise funds. I've decided to use this trip for the charity as well. I have a fairly modest target for this trip at £1,000 so please help me achieve it. It will make the sweat and tears worthwhile!
Cancer is one of those illnesses that people do not like to think or talk about even though it affects 1 in 3 in this country. Support for the research being done by Cancer Research UK is vital if the answwer to this evil illness is to be found.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks
Alan
I've got a cracking wife who's got me off to a flying start with her donation! Thanks Deb. xxx
At 1100 on Friday 1st July I stood on the 4,810 metre high summit of Mont Blanc after the hardest 7 hour climb i've ever done in 50 years of climbing. Many thanks to all those people who've encouraged me with kind words (or words questioning my sanity as a pensioner!) and sponsored me.
