Story
My father once said to me, 'I have ran one marathon, and I will never run one again'. This horrific statement has always stuck with me.
I myself am a Type 1 Diabetic and am by far, not a natural runner. I have however worked hard to get good control of my health but still struggle with it on a daily basis because diabetes never has a day off. I may not particularly have had a good hand but there are a lot of people who have it worse off than me and for those reasons I have decided to put myself through absolute hell.
On 28th of April 2019, I will be shuffling my 'Hobbit like' body around London in a 26.2 Mile loop just to make you laugh and hopefully raise some money for a good cause.
The Charity I am raising for is Outward Bounds Trust who run team building and leadership sessions in the outdoors to help built build confidence in young people to help them survive in everyday life.
I've always felt that one of the only things that absolutely everyone can benefit from is the outdoors and this charity is the embodiment of that.
DISCLAIMER - I cannot run well, I have only every run half that distance once before! My legs are comically short. A walk feels like a sprint and a step feels like a hurdle. Running for 5 hrs straight would mean I miss 3 of my daily meals, and everyone knows a hungry Alan is a grumpy Alan.
Thank you and please donate whatever you can to help me achieve my goal, every bit counts! And, if anything, you can laugh at my suffering!
