Story
There can be very few people out there who don’t have a friend or family member who has been stricken by this awful disease. Not only does it kill its victims slowly, but robs them of their dignity in the process.
Friends and family are also impacted by seeing those they know and love slowly regress, forgetting key facts, getting confused by what is going on around them, and losing energy. It can be heartbreaking to see the look of fear on a sufferer’s face when confusion hits or to have them forget who even close relatives are.
I am hoping to help make a difference in my small way by walking 26 miles around the North Yorkshire Moors. This is going to be a real challenge, not just because of the distance but also the hilliness of the route. I appreciate that for many times are hard right now, but anything you can spare would be very gratefully received. And if you are a taxpayer please remember to Gift Aid any donation you are able to make.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Many thanks in advance for your help and support.
