London Revolution · 13 May 2017
On the 13th and 14th of May I will be joining 2500 other cyclists in the London revolution cycle, a bum numbing 185 mile cycle over two days, 360 degrees around London. The challenge will see me pass some of Londons iconic landmarks, hidden green lanes and the beautiful chiltern hills with a total ascent of 9,411 ft.
Cycling is not a sport where I have much experience, in fact I don't even own my own road bike, so my "training" has consisted of the bike in the gym. I signed up to this after Christmas and unfortunately injured myself playing football so have only begun to make an attempt at training mid April, making this all the more challenging.
I am fundraising for the Northern Ireland cancer fund for children and the daisy lodge. The NICFC is the leading local charity that provides practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people aged 0 to 24 affected by cancer. Free therapeutic short breaks are offered to families at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down, where my mum also volunteers. Every week in Northern Ireland, another THREE children, teenagers or young adults, aged between 0-24 years old, are diagnosed with cancer. EVERY WEEK!! Please donate anything you can, however little . Thank you in advance and.....
Jelly bum pads at the ready 👍🏻
