Story
Shooting Stars Children’s Hospices is a fantastic charity supporting very special children and their families in the London/Surrey area where I work and live. The charity first came to my attention through a fundraising event at Guildford RFC where my son was playing and their work seemed so valuable that they were the natural choice when the skydive presented the opportunity to raise some funds for a great cause.
When I went to Hinton with Stuart Russell in April to present the Red Devil’s with their Cargostore sponsored wing suit and tracking suits they very kindly offered me the opportunity to do a tandem skydive. My immediate reaction was to jump (no pun intended) at the opportunity to do something fairly extreme that I hadn’t done before. In other words I went against all my lifelong principles and spoke before I thought!
Right now I’m very excited by the prospect of the jump later this month and I’m sure I’ll be very excited and happy for having done it once it’s over. I’m not sure how I’ll feel on the day but Stuart tells me it’s as easy as falling off a log!
