This is will be the third time I've run the Blaydon Race. However, this will be the first time that I've decided to raise money for Smile for Life. This Children's Charity helps disadvantaged and disabled children here in the North East.

Also as part of their work they operate Cafe Beam (Gosforth) which offers work placements for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, empowering them and enabling the development of work skills. Since they opened on Gosforth High Street, I've been visiting many times with my elderly mother. Which has also become a location that is easily accessible for her and her friends.
