Story
I started growing my beard about a year ago. Not many of you will know but I have noticed my own body and health changing these last 2 years as I approach 50 and it definitely makes older age and my health a reality and issue. I know men are not great at approaching services myself included, more manly to say I don't bother or I can ignore it, but more than ever we should. I started feeling low about something personal and I inwardly stopped doing the things I would normally including keeping my beard trimmed. So now it has become a thing and I have gone with the long beard look and embraced it I have had a lot of comments. How about using it to raise some money if I can, rather than shaving it and the event passes without so much as a quiet fart that does not smell. So please if you can spare a small donation, I would appreciate it. I found this on Just Giving and who knows I might need to use their services soon and people we know might need to. We have saved money these last 2 years with staying at home (not everyone I know, there are some out of work and benefits about to be cut and increasing cost of living, food and heating) but if you can spare something, please donate.
Big Day is Monday 1st November- time to confirmed here Live stream on Facebook (because it is easier) 17:45hrs on 01/11/21
East & North Hertfordshire Charitable Foundation have replied to my email and offered to share my event on their Twitter and Facebook pages. I thought maybe we can make this a bigger fund raising event and I would like to invite anyone else to join me and shave on the Monday 1st November (the first day of Movember 2021) it can be the last day you shave for the whole month of November raising awareness for men's health. Growing a beard and twisting that moustache or shaping that goatie can raise some eye brows and some money by starting the conversation. More details to come.
With your help we want to raise awareness and funds for Men's Health projects to support patients at the Lister, New QEII, Hertford County Hospital and the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
