Story
5 year ago my good friend Keith Misell was diagnosed with PSP, or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. When he was first diagnosed no-one in his family or friends had ever heard of PSP. Initially the medical experts thought he had Parkinson's Disease, which displays some of the same symptoms. PSP is a degenerative brain disease, which slowly robs the sufferer of their ability to walk, talk, see, or use any of their muscles until the person eventually becomes locked into their own body. There is no known cure for PSP.
The PSP Association is the only organisation in the UK that supports sufferers of PSP through research into possible cures and the provision of palliative care. If you would like to learn more about the disease have a look at their website: http://www.pspassociation.org.uk/
With a view to offering support for the great work that the PSP Association carry out, I am aiming to cycle from Coast to Coast, Whitehaven on the Cumbrian Coast to Tynemouth on the North East Coast via the Reivers Route. I will be accompanied by my Sons David and Paul and my good friend Shaun Reaveley.. The route we intend to take is about 170 miles which we will cover over 3 days during Easter Weekend Apr 3rd-5th 2015.
You can view the route here: http://www.cyclepad.org.uk/listing/The-Reivers-Cycle-Route-NCN-Route-10
