I've decided to join a team of 25 charity workers to help raise £35,000 for Computer Aid International, We are doing a sponsored bike trip across Nepal through 350 km of
treacherous mountain terrain. CAI is a
non-profit organization that refurbishes donated computers to be used
for training and capacity building in rural communities around the
world. They've provided over
150,000 PCs to more than 100 countries
across Africa and South America, making them the world's largest and
most
experienced ICT for Development provider.
My promise to you as your is that I'll train like Rocky, ride like pain were
pleasure, make it to the end even if I've only got one wheel left to
carry me there, and take loads of pictures along the way so that you
all can be a part of the experience from start to finish :-) Aside from the satisfaction
that you'll get from seeing the amount of pain I'll be in at the end,
it really is a great organization to support, so please donate here and stay tuned for more updates!
For every donation up to £2,900 50% will go to Computer Aid International and 50% will go towards commercial fees for the team (
flights, accommodation,
food, guides, trip leader and doctor etc).
After I've raised £2,900 100% of all donations go directly to Computer
Aid. As a minimum, our team will be donating £36,000 to Computer Aid
International by the time we set off in October, but we can't do that
without your help! Computer Aid is remarkably
cost-effective: a donation of just £50 can put a computer on a desk in
a school that would otherwise have no access to such facilities. Every
donation counts, big and small!
