Story
Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My goal is to raise £1,000 for the MS Society by walking the route of the London Underground during the course of 2015.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system. In MS, the coating around nerve fibres is damaged, causing a range of symptoms. More than 100,000 people in the UK have MS. We don't know the cause and we haven't yet found a cure, but research is progressing fast. Someone close to me is currently living with MS which makes a cause close to my heart.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So why walk the route of the London Underground? I've always enjoyed walking around London and this seems like a great way to get to know the city. It is something I have been planning to do for a number of years and decided that now is the time.
The boring bit now - THE RULES - I will start on 11 March 2015 and aim to cover the route of the 11 Underground Lines (about 300 miles) before the end of 2015. This excludes the DLR and overland rail. I must walk between every station on each line and visit all stations that are possible - don't think I can walk to the station inside Heathrow...
Other than that I aim to have fun, learn the city, get fit and most importantly raise money for a good cause.
Your support for this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Alan
