Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page! I'm hoping to run the Edinburgh Half Marathon at the end of May to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.

Most of you will be aware of the work that they do, but it’s a charity that means a lot to me and my family. My Grandad was a dementia sufferer in the last years of his life and the wonderful volunteers at Alzheimer Scotland done a lot to ease his pain during those years.

Unfortunately, Gran is also affected by dementia but has had the benefit of the same invaluable service.

My legs are telling me that running isn’t for them, and I’ve never ran anything like 13 miles before, but we’ll hopefully manage to stumble through it in a minute or two less than two hours!

Anything you can spare will go a long way to easing the suffering caused by this terrible illness. Thanks again, Alan.
