Story
Recently I announced to the world that I am now semi retired.
That same day, a nurse called me to say, "your PSA test needs more investigation !" Talk about a bolt from the blue, certainly a bit of a wake up call!
Although checks are still ongoing, subsequent tests suggest I should be fine, but hearing of this news has certainly changed my view on life and made me want to do more.
Like so many blokes, I have supported charity events over the years but never given my time, to actually participate in raising the funds. This changed on hearing the news, I now wish to do something positive, and asking for your help (with a small donation).
I love playing golf (even if it is badly) and I have roped in a few mates to join me. We hope to play 3 rounds at Benton Hall on June 29th and WITH YOUR HELP, we'll raise a few quid for Prostate Cancer UK
Our team name is "It's About Time" Think about it, its the one common thing we each have, that we each take for granted, it's so precious, and yet so fragile.
It's About Time...............
- I did something for charity,
- To check your PSA levels,
- We helped the charity raise awareness,
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That's thousands of dads, brothers, partners, grandads, mates, sons and uncles. But it doesn't have to be this way. I'm taking on The Big Golf Race to help raise money and awareness of prostate cancer to keep men in the game for longer.
I know times are tough and everyone gets requests for great causes but please do one (preferably both) of the following:-
- Have a regular check up. Men get your PSA reading, it's a simple blood test and an early warning system.
- Make a donation. If you are able to make a donation towards our target, that would be wonderful and very much appreciated. Thank you in advance, it really helps the charity.
Your donation will help fund lifesaving research to find better tests to diagnose men sooner.
Thank you again for your support, please feel free to share the page to others you think would help.
