We support people at risk of homelessness to make sure there's a home for everyone

Story

I last ran a marathon in 1992. In fact I ran two. One was the Harlow marathon with 250 runners watched by one man and his dog. The other was the London Marathon. I ran it in about 3 hours 20 minutes.

A lot of water has flowed under my bridge since then. I'm older, balder, heavier. But perhaps no wiser. So, I fancy another go.

Why? Because it's there. To see if I can still do 3 hours 20 minutes (yikes!). Because London's a great City to run in. Because I'm knocking on a bit and runnning :-) out of time.

Why for Shelter? Because, amazingly in this age, in this city, many people are homeless and others are losing their homes. Shelter are the people working to stop this. I'm writing this in the run up to Christmas when 75,000 people in UK will be homeless.

So will I do this?

Well  I'm blessed with the ability to run and to enjoy it. But it is very much harder than when I last did it. My 2013 attempt failed. A mystery tendon injury.

I'm heading for 2014. Will train in a way that respects age. Many cold mornings and miserable evenings ahead. But I will do this!!

So contribute what you'd like to. Please send me a motivating message (but not too motivating as I might overdo it again).

Thank you!!
