I am doing this trip as the second part of walking the completed part of the Pennine Bridleway. www.nationaltrail.co.uk/pennine-bridleway
Please follow the link above for details of the Pennine Bridleway.
I completed the first 100 miles from my home in Derbyshire to Hebden Bridge in 2009 and have always regretted that I did not raise anything for charity. Now, nine years, one heart attack and five stents later, I am determined to use my personal goal to help others.
The St James's Place Foundation will benefit from 50% of all funds raised and St James's Place will match what I raise. The Foundation will administer the funds for me and ensure that they are passed to the charities that are close to our hearts:
British Heart Foundation, Leuka, Cancer Research. Derbyshire & Rutland Air Ambulance & Rotary Club of Ripley. I do appreciate that people will be supporting the charities which mean a lot to them but please donate what you can, no matter how small.
I will be walking the whole distance but will have the assistance of MAX, one of our young harness ponies. He is taking on the role of Pack Pony and carrying all of my camping gear. I will leave Hebden Bridge on 10 August and aim to arrive at Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria on 16 August.
Thank you for reading this and please do what you can.
Many thanks in anticipation
Alan
