Story

For 2013 Team Auld consisting of Alan , Elaine & Cameron Auld will be taking on various challenges over the summer all  to raise much needed funds for Prader Willi Uk .

On 17th May cameron will compete in ironkids lanzarote which is a run followed by a swim then another run .

On 18th May Elaine will then compete in one of the toughest ironmen (Lanzarote ) this consist of a 2.4 mile swim then 112 mile cycle then finished off by 26.2 mile run .

On 9th June Alan will take part in the Utterly Buttermere swim . This is an open water swim race set in Lake Buttermere over a distance of 10 km .

On 8th September Alan will finish off this challenge by competing in Ironman Wales in Tenby which again is over the distance of 2.4 mile swim , 112 mile cycle , 26.2 mile run  .

These events are hard but not as hard as the daily challenges our daughter Iona faces . Iona sufferes from Prader Willi Syndrome which is a rare genetic disorder affecting only about 60 persons in Scotland .This syndrome is present from birth & is not curable. People with PWS have an insaitable appetite resulting in a constant feeling of hunger which can lead to excessive eating & life threating obesity, together with immature emotional behaviour & incomplete sexual development .

Anyone who has ever met Iona will know that she is the most adorable girl & brings so much joy & love to our familly . Iona is a very fun loving girl & loves to take part in activities like swimming & cycling (all at her own pace )
