Story
I got to know Martin when Cambrian Pharmacy sponsored Oswestry Rugby Club. He is a true gent and has made me feel very welcome since I came to work for Cambrian Pharmacy.
I found out that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and was organising a little fund raiser. Naturally, without thinking I asked if I could help a little.
Turns out there is nothing ‘little’ about this fund raiser. The aim is to raise over £30K for breast and prostate cancer UK. Even for those who try to keep fit it takes a while to get your head around each individual event. A 112 mile cycle, a 26.2 mile run and a 2.4 mile swim. I am going to tackle the 112 mile cycle!
These are big distances and require a considerable effort. All these efforts are insignificant however when considered against the struggle cancer sufferers and their families go through whilst undergoing treatment. These efforts are often superhuman. I remind myself of this as I struggle to do another 10 miles on the bike.
We at Cambrian Pharmacy know the importance of supporting patients who have had a diagnosis of cancer. In times of crisis we need to go above and beyond to help. I have worked in many areas of this country and have never seen the fund-raising community-spirit that is shown within the Oswestry area.
I am calling upon that spirit of community, to go above and beyond by asking for your support to help Cambrian Pharmacy and Martin and the others raise money for this worthy cause.
Thank you in advance for your kind support.
