Story
Last year I couldn't believe I was running my first marathon, and here I am in 2023 running my SECOND MARATHON! I never thought I would attempt a Marathon, let alone finish and be back to do it again.
Almost a decade ago I started running. It was never something that came easy to me but after a injury that left me almost unable to walk, I needed a way to gain my mobility back. In 2015 I ran my first 5k and in 2022 my first marathon - 26.2 miles.
Training for the 2022 Chicago Marathon as part of the GCNWI Goal Getters was one of the best and hardest things I have ever done. Marathon training takes over your life, but it also brought me to a wonderful and supportive running community. I feel in love with running again through marathon training.
While I am thrilled to to attempt 26.2 miles again in October 2023, I am most excited for the journey to get there.
And along the way, I get to support Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana! As a lifelong Girl Scout, I am so excited to give back again. Thanks to the support of 62 people who made donations, in 2022 I far surpassed my goal and raised $2900 for GCNWI. Can we do it again and hit $3000?
Please consider donating and sharing my page to help me get there! Your support means to much to me and GCNWI!
