Did you know that in Guatemala...

     56% of people live in abject poverty...

     24% live on less than $1 per day...

     60% of children do not attend school...

Only through education can we break the cycle of poverty.  By getting children off the streets and into classrooms can we provide poitive alternatives to begging and give them a brighter future.  Education for the Children is dedicated to educating some of the poorest children in Central America.

After learning some of these shocking statistics we were moved to get involved.  We have decided to take on the EFTC Volcano Challenge.  The Challenge is to climb 3 volcanoes in 3 days, 2 of which are active!  This will take place January 22-24, 2011 and will coincide with the opening of a new school which are fundraising will have helped to build. 

Consider how fortunate we are to live in a prosperous society.  Please assist us in making a positve change for children in need.  A donation of any denomination would go a LONG way in helping these children and helping us to achieve our goal.
