Alex's Festive 500km Bike ride - Bristol to Cambridge
Fundraising for Huggard
Fundraising for Huggard
On the 29th December at 6am I am cycling from Bristol to Cambridge and back (just over 508km or 316 miles). I need to make it back to Bristol by 1736hrs on Friday so I have a little over 36 hours to complete the distance. The forecast is not looking brilliant and I am very nervous if I can do it! A lot of this will be in the dark 😬
My route will pass the following checkpoints 🚴♀️ -
Unfortunately I don’t have a tracker this time but I’ll try to keep you all updated along the way where I can.
I would like to raise some money for the homeless charity Huggard. I’ve seen first hand the incredible work these guys do supporting people who have fallen on the hardest of times and given them the tools to re-build their lives.
No matter how bad it gets out there I’ve made the choice to be riding and know I have a travelodge stop at the 333km point for a warm shower and a few hours rest. This luxury is not an option to many homeless people who struggle night after night without access to basic human needs such as warmth and shelter. This is where wonderful charities like the Huggard step in and provide that help to people who need it.
I’d be really grateful if you could donate a small amount to support the charity.
Thanks,
Alex
P.S The picture of me is from the heatwave in August .. and I’ll be thinking strongly of this when pedalling into the rain and wind 😂
