Story
I have decided to take part in the UEA Three Peaks Challenge for charity!
The Three Peaks are the three tallest mountains in the UK- Ben Nevis (1345 metres), Scafell Pike (978 metres) and Snowdon (1085 metres).
In June, we will be climbing all three mountains one after the other. All in all, we will be walking an estimated 42-44 kilometres with a total ascent of 3000 metres.
Before we climb though, we are trying to raise money for the incredible charity, Hope for Children. They are a charity dedicated to helping impoverished children all around the world, doing their best to provide these children with a happy and healthy childhood. I am aiming to support them by raising 680 pounds or more before I climb.
I have chosen to support this charity out of a realisation of just how lucky I have been. I am from Malaysia but am currently studying a Masters in the UK. I have been able to afford this due to financial support from my parents. I qualified for this because I received an excellent education growing up. Most are not so lucky.
Almost half the worlds children live in poverty. Where I spent my childhood stressing over exams, they spend theirs stressing over food. This is a tragedy and I want to do something to help.
Hope for Children has done some truly amazing work, helping send children to school, providing medical care to those in need and more. And you can help.
A 5 pound donation can pay for a Childs school uniform.
A 6 pound donation will cover the costs of their stationary and schoolbag.
A 15 pound donation will enable their family to receive a package of essential supplies like food and warm clothes.
Even the smallest donation you make is huge and can potentially save a kids life. Your donation could be the key that gives a child a bright future! So please, donate. Every little bit is appreciated. Thank you!
