Al died quietly and surrounded by family on September 9th. He spent his final weeks in his bedroom at home — listening to music, welcoming the odd visitor and sending messages to friends and relatives. That was only possible due the support of Marie Curie nurses and carers, who visited daily and provided occasional respite cover overnight. In lieu of flowers, we, and Al, would appreciate any donations to Marie Curie, so that they can continue to help other families through similar situations.
