Story
Aksia is delighted to have partnered with UP-Unlocking Potential for a second year, to continue supporting the charity’s mission to transform the life chances of children and young people in London aged 4-25 who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
During our first year supporting the charity, Aksia raised over £45,000 in sponsorship by organising a relay challenge event, which saw a team from Aksia Europe complete a 50 mile socially distant relay, passing the virtual baton along a route that linked together Unlocking Potential’s services across the city.
This year the team at Aksia Europe will be 'Going Up for UP', in a sponsored hike with the aim of collectively scaling the altitude of Mt. Kilimanjaro at one of the South East's highest points.
Throughout our partnership, the funds we raise are being directed towards Unlocking Potential’s Schools Programme, a school-based mental health service offering therapeutic interventions and wellbeing activities to primary age children with SEMH needs in 10 schools across London. When schools were closed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Unlocking Potential quickly adapted the programme to stay in touch with the vulnerable families they support. Now that children are back in schools, and as and the service resumes as much as possible, the charity's work has an even more important role to play.
Please join us in our efforts to support vulnerable children and Unlocking Potential’s work by donating via the button to the right. Your contribution will have a significant impact for a small charity like UP, and we thank you in advance for your kind support (N.B. as in prior years, our internal compliance has approved donations of up to a maximum of £5000 from individual firms).
