Story
Hi all
I am running the 2020 London Marathon this Sunday (04/10) in memory of my friend Tarek, who sadly passed away in May this year. Tarek tried to run the marathon last year for Sense, but was on the waiting list and sadly did not live to run the marathon and hold his own medal this year.
Sense is a fantastic charity that provides support for the DeafBlind and funds research into the causes of deafness and blindness in the UK.
Of lesser importance, and as some of you know, I have made the journey from operating table to finish line many times over the years but it never gets old! This will be my fifth London in a row and I am planning for this to (hopefully) be my 80th marathon (yes 10 since London last year) in just 5 years.
I am trying to raise £1000 for the charity, and would be enormously appreciative of any support that you all could provide.
I will be running the actual course on Sunday and hope to walk the last mile in memory of Tarek. Those who would like to join me are warmly welcome.
Many thanks
Akram 🏃🏻♂️💫
