Fundraising for St Peter's church, Brighton
Story
Hey,
So if you don't know already I am spending this year interning at St Peters Church in Brighton and through this internship we have been given an opportunity to go see and help out with what St Stephens Society are doing in Hong Kong.
St Stephen's Society runs several programmes, including a rehabilitation centre originally set up by Jackie Pullinger. It currently houses and supports 200-300 individuals struggling with varying addictions with the aim that guests will leave healed, restored and better equipped to go out and live a life of meaning and purpose. We will be going in to a rehabilitation centre for a period of just over 2 weeks and have a chance to do some outreach as well. We have been tasked to raise £16000 between 15 of us that are going, Interns and Staff. Which comes to around £1000 each. This is a basic breakdown of the costs:
Our primary costs for the trip are flights (£602 per person), accommodation in a local hostel (£248 per person) and meals with the guests at the hostels (£133 per person). These are the main costs.
Fundraiser: Has been done.
- I have shaved my hair off live on fb and instagram.
- You can still donate towards the goal of reaching £500 for the trip, thanks so much for the donations and the donations to come.
- The hair will be donated to Princess Trust which make wigs for children going through cancer treatment.
If you're the praying type, pray for provision, protection and that God really reveals what it is he wants me to learn from this trip.
