Story
On April 24th, the mighty AKCC set a challenge of achieving 100 miles whilst fundraising for the Young Carers of Gloucestershire - we had this challenge completed inside 24 hours...
The bar was then set a great deal higher - to achieve 1000 miles. A little over 2 weeks later and we have smashed our revised target.
We now have our sights set even higher whilst continuing to raise awanress and much needed funds for this amazing charity during these unprecented times.
The new challenge we will now try to attempt is to get to 5000 miles!! We will continue to fundraise for the Corona Crisis Appeal for young carers in Gloucestershire. As per usual, there will be daily posts and regular updates to let everyone know how our progress is doing.
We are now starting to see more donations coming in, which makes all the miles we are racking up all the more valuable and worthwhile.
Of course anyone can donate to this worthy cause - if you share this page via social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc), awareness of this local charity goes from strength to strength!
Gloucester Young Carers is still committed to finding new and innovative ways to to support young carers during the Corona crisis. We believe that this current situation will have a huge impact on the lives of the young people we support as a charity, particularly those in the most vulnerable families.
Isolation is a key challenge at the best of times for many young carers and now, as self-isolation becomes more prevalent, we know many more will struggle as a result. In addition, many will experience the impact of loss of income in the family as companies begin to make difficult decisions regarding to staffing.
A small donation to our Young Carers Corona Crisis Appeal will go a long way towards helping us continue our support both now and in the period after the pandemic has subsided.
Many thanks for all your efforts in supporting this amazing charity - happy exercising! As always...#staysafe #staywell
