Story
Having worked with Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust for many years, we have seen first hand what amazing work they do - from saving endangered species, protecting habitats under threat, engaging with children and campaigning tirelessly by being the local voice for nature conservation.
We have also been fortunate enough to have had some incredible wildlife experiences and gained a great deal of pleasure from visiting many of the Trusts nature reserves.
Sadly, before we got to visit all of the reserves the Trust manage, we moved away from Leicester, but the county still has a very important place in our hearts.
To help Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust’s vital work in protecting the wildlife and wild places of the two counties, we will be embarking on an epic sponsored bike ride to finally visit all 36 of the Trusts stunning nature reserve...in a single day.
Starting and finishing at the Rutland Water Volunteer Training Centre, we will be completing the gruelling 185 mile route on our tandem.
As well as raising money for the Trusts essential work, one of the aims of our Wild-Life-Cycle Challenge is to raise awareness of the benefits to our mental health and wellbeing of being in nature. It is a well proven fact that being outdoors in nature is good for us all - that's one reason we love being out on our bikes so much. We also want to show people that they don’t need a car and have to drive miles to be able to enjoy nature.
Please sponsor us and help us raise valuable funds to protect and enhance our incredible wildlife.
