Story
Hi everyone,
I recently spoke to A colleague at work about the fundraising efforts him and his family continue to engage in for Leeds Hospital Charity. This fundraising was started by his son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Lucy Beasley, following the tragic death of their son Frankie in 2021 when he was born prematurely and spent a precious 4 weeks with them in the NICU.
This conversation had led me to the decision to compete in the London Hyrox in Frankie’s name. Alex and Lucy had Frankie at 25 weeks and he went straight into the NICU at Leeds General Infirmary where the fantastic doctors and nurses cared for not just Frankie but Alex and Lucy in the 4 weeks. Alex and Lucy told me their experience of the amazing work the doctors and nurses do on a daily basis in supporting the babies in their care, as well as their families during what is an incredibly difficult time. So Far Alex and Lucy have raised over £20k for the NICU through the ‘Leeds Hospital Charity’ and I can’t wait to add to that total.
