Story
In 2007 my Dad, Donal then aged 47 went for a routine hernia operation which turned out to be a bit more than expected!
He was diagnosed with Stage 2 Non-Hodgkin’s Follicular Lymphoma (low grade B-cell lymphoma). After 8 cycles of Chemotherapy and maintenance chemo for 18 months, life returned to normality and he remained in remission until June this year.
Unfortunately, his Lymphoma has returned. It is now Stage 4 and has transformed (more aggressive).
This was quite daunting, however, with the support of the Lymphoma Action group he has come to terms with what lies ahead of him - Chemotherapy etc.
Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. They have been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma including my family.
This is my first ever marathon and any donations small or large will be greatly appreciated by myself, my family, and Lymphoma Action.
Thank you, Aislinn!! xx
