Story
This year i have set myself 3 challanges to raise money for a charity very close to my heart. Edwards Trust is a charity supporting children, young people and parents following the death of a child or a parent. I have seen the impact that Edwards Trust has had on so many peoples lives and would love to support them to continue their live changing work.
I shall be taking part in...
1500m Open Water Swim (16th July)
170ft Abseil (16th September)
Birmingham Marathon (15th October)
My brothers Tully and Declan will be joining in too! The open water swim will be part of a relay triathlon, Declan will be completing the 40K cycle and Tully will finish the race with the 10K run. Tully is also going to take part in the Birmingham half marathon on 15th October.
Edwards Trust was founded in 1989 by Peter and Hilary Dent in memory of their son Edward, who died aged 7. The charity provide holistic family bereavement services; including one-to-one counselling, support groups, specialist retreats, children’s social activities, a wellbeing service and supports over 600 local families every year.
Of course this would not be possible without the incredible generosity of those who support Edwards Trust...
1) £50 pays for the craft materials needed for 5 children in our Creative Expression of Grief Project.
2) £100 funds a day out for each bereaved family to meet with other families significantly reducing their feelings of isolation.
3) £220 funds our Wellbeing in Bereavement support to each bereaved parent.
4) £350 supports one child through our Schools Outreach Project.
5) £1000 supports a bereaved child through the counselling they need.
6) £1300 supports a bereaved parent through the counselling they need.
7) £2500 funds a residential respite bereavement care retreat for parents.
I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me to help raise money for such a wonderful charity.
Thank you so much!
