The Association for International Cancer Research is a charity that I am really passionate about. I actually used to be an on-street fundraiser for them a few years ago so know that they are a great cause.

AICR is a cancer research charity at an international level. They believe that working together globally is vital in order to learn more about this disease which affects one in three people.

They also keep their administrative costs particularly low for a charity which ensures that almost all of their donations go directly towards the cause instead of advertising, branding and other gimmicks. This may explain why you haven't heard of AICR before.

Bad news I'm afraid folks....with only weeks left until the London Marathon, I have had to pull out due to an achilles injury which I have been battlng since February.

Turns out it is all linked to the foot operation which I had just 2 years ago. As I am still in pain with it, I decided the most sensible option would be to pull out and let someone else run in my place.

I am absolutely gutted and feel terrible letting A.I.C.R and those who sponsored me down so last minute but I will intend on running a half marathon in the summer instead.

All the money raised here and at our various fund raising events will of course, still be going to the great cause so thank you all.
