Story
Young Lives Vs Cancer help young cancer patients and their families to find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them, such as day to day support, information on financial grants, and homes from home close to hospitals where families can stay during treatment.
I was personally supported by this charity back in 2015 when I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma at 20 years old. YLVC supported me by assigning a Social Worker who I was in constant communication with for support for the duration of my treatment and for a period afterwards.
I was also invited to social events where I could meet other young adults in similar situations and invited to give my say in important matters that affected people like me. Thankfully I am now in full remission, however the work they do really does make a difference and I can't put into words how appreciative I was for the support they provided.
It's now time for me to give back to this amazing charity and raise lots of money to help them to support others in need! If you know me well enough you will know that I am NOT an avid runner, so this will be a huge challenge... but all worth it for an amazing cause!
