Story
In December 2019, I suffered an ectopic pregnancy.
After experiencing symptoms for almost a month, my left Fallopian tube eventually ruptured causing me to bleed internally and require life saving surgery. After losing almost 3 litres of blood, my left Fallopian tube was removed.
An ectopic pregnancy is where the egg implants itself outside of the uterus and grows outside of the womb making it a life threatening condition where the pregnancy is not viable. Ectopic Pregnancies effect 1 in 80 pregnancies- making them a lot more common than most people would believe.
This was an incredibly traumatic experience, both physically and mentally. For years after, I struggled with my mental health and, throughout all of it the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust provided me with exceptional support and education. This is why I am running the Great North Run to raise money to return some of the support they gave me.
I have been training hard for this cause I am so passionate about and any donations would really mean the world to me!
