Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been lucky enough to get a place in this years London Marathon through my club, Brecon AC after being unsuccessful in the ballot two years in a row. I have run three half marathons over the last couple of years but never tackled the full 26.2!
Training is going quite well and I feel on track for completing the run in my goal time of under four hours (hopefully!!)
I have decided to raise some money at the same time for a great charity called "Hounds for Heroes" they are a fairly new charity, registered in February 2010 and their purpose is to provide specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of both the UK Armed Forces and Civillian Emergency Services. Through this provision their aims are to provide help and practical support leading to a better quality of life for their clients. The organisation receives no public funding and depends entirely upon contributions!
There are currently 900,000 ex-service people in Britain with disabilities. A high proportion of them would benefit from having an assistance dog but only a small handful do. So, if you have a pound or two to spare then please donate to this great charity :)
Thank you x
