Event: London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023, on 2 April 2023
We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Sidenote: I was meant to run the London Landmarks in April, but had to change to the Royal Parks in October. I've extended this page so donations are still welcome!

I have once again made the questionable decision to attempt a half marathon. This time it's the Royal Parks Half Marathon, and I'd love to raise some money for Alzheimer's Research UK.

My uncle was diagnosed with early onset Lewy Body's dementia last year, and is now into the mid stages of the disease. My aunt and cousins have been absolute troopers in dealing with the diagnosis and managing his care - so this one is for them.

Every day, almost 600 people in the UK develop dementia. At the moment there is no cure, and once a person has dementia, they will have it for the rest of their life.

The goal of dementia research is to accelerate progress towards a treatment for the diseases which cause dementia. We need to increase awareness about dementia and the diseases that cause it.

So if you're able, please donate to my Just Giving page! The more money that's raised, the easier this run/jog/walk will be :)

And if you fancy cheering me on, I'll see you on the 8th October!
