Aiden is 11 years old. Upon reading 'Stories for Boys who Dare to be Different', he came across the story of Christian McPhilamy, a young boy who grew his hair to donate it, and loved the idea of doing something similar. Aiden researched charities himself, and came across The Little Princess Trust. Decision made. No more hair cuts. Aidens hair grew and grew. A huge mane of golden blonde locks followed. But it wasn't always easy........
He was mistaken for a girl almost daily. People in the supermarket remarked on our 'pretty little girl', waiters asked what 'little Miss' would like to order, and kids made fun of him and called him names. Some days he found tougher than others, but every time, he just said how it wasn't bad compared to how hard it would be to have no hair and get stared at or made fun of.
Aidens hair is now long enough to donate, and he's looking forward to being able to help the Little Princess Trust.
We are asking for your support, not only for Aiden, but for a charity that gets no funding, but provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years old, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. Since 2005, they have donated over 7500 wigs, and raised and awarded just over £2.8 Million to 34 hand-selected projects for research into kinder, more effective treatments for children’s cancers with fewer side effects.
Please give what you can.
Thank you x
