Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Together with 10 others, I will be cycling between Leeds and Wokingham (approx 270 miles) on September 9-11th 2009. As background to my motivation for organising this bike ride, it is based around a desire to do something in memory of my Dad who died from cancer in October 2007 . Originally I wanted to walk the Penine Way, but with such a big time commitment of approx 2 weeks I felt this would need to be tackled in two parts. Whilst looking into the bike ride option, it coincided nicely with the opening of the new company head office and thought it would be a great way of combining the two and raising some really decent money for charity. With this in mind we will be raising money for two charities, the first being ‘Beating Bowel Cancer’, a charity known very well to all within Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson company, and the second will be ‘Champion House’, a residential centre for youth groups based in Edale, Derbyshire, set at the foot of the Penine Way. Rather than raising money directly for the cancer Dad suffered from, Champion House was a project Dad developed back in the ‘70s and was one of his great legacies in life, something about which he was incredibly proud to be associated and keen to see go from strength to strength.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please give whatever you can afford, however small or large - everything is massively appreciated!
On behalf of all taking part, thanks for sparing the time to read this...
