Story
After last year's 10K adventure, I somehow convinced myself that running 20K this year was going to be an excellent idea...ha ha :) For those of you that are unfamiliar with kilometres, 20K is just shy of a half marathon and approximates to running almost the entire length of the Victoria line, or running from Fallowfield to Bury.
I thought I would also run somewhere a bit different to Hackney, and settled on Brussels where some of my work colleagues are running too. Because you can't beat finishing a run and then washing down double fried chips with a pineapple flavoured beer and a strawberry waffle - or something like that...
Well I have two weeks to go, and my training was interrupted by nasty back pain brought on by a shower - as only it could be with me I suppose. But I'm still hopeful of making it round the course in one piece, maybe in two hours or so. OK, in one piece will do fine right now.
I'm raising money this time for the nia project, a charity that runs projects for disadvantaged women, runs refuges for women and children that are victims of domestic violence, and do a very good job as I've seen first hand. You can find out more at http://www.niaproject.info/.
I will keep you updated on how I do!
