Background
At 0300 on 12th January 2009, Darul Fadilah in Rafah, Gaza, was bombed by 7 Israeli missiles, which destroyed this once magnificent building.
Darul Fadilah was a home and school for 500 orphan boys and girls, some as young as 4, as well as a Masjid which catered for over 2000 people and conducted a programme where 4000 children memorised the Holy Qur’an. It was a training and community centre, providing a valuable service to the thousands of women in the area, and a medical centre that provided primary medical care for the locals.
It was a huge asset to the Palestinian community of Rafah and, like so many other things, one that was taken from them by brute force.
How can we help?
For the past couple of years Islamic Help have been raising funds to not simply restore this centre to its former magnificence, but to surpass it. We need your support and generous donations in order to ensure that these orphans and the community at large receive a better quality of life.
