Story
Hard as it may be to believe, but Christmas Day is only 70 days away (or just 10 weeks, if you prefer)!
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have again been unable to hold as many fundraising events as we’d have liked, during this year. Also, most likely due to job losses and/or furloughs, we have noticed a large drop in the number of donations received. However, as we fully expected, the number of people who have accessed our unique, specialist FREE support service, has risen considerably.
Sadly, we realise that year on year our numbers will increase; as more and more people find their way to us. Particularly as we are the only organisation offering this vital and lifesaving support across the whole Merseyside area – in fact this service is not being replicated anywhere else throughout the whole of the UK.
We only have 11 more months remaining, of our 3 year grant from The National Lottery Community Fund and desperately need to source some sustainable funding; especially since we receive no NHS or Government funding and are still reliant on donations, fundraising efforts and charitable grants. Find out more about who we are and what we do by watching a short video - Joe’s Story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGzfXDgIVoI and watch our new fundraising appeal video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un-B-Fm_a1M
For the second year running, we are holding our Paul’s Place Christmas Money Wall online again this year. The purpose of the fundraiser is that instead of sending Christmas cards and/or exchanging gifts, you donate to Paul’s Place instead.
It’s very easy to take part. You simply decide how much money you would normally spend (anything between £1 and £100) and donate that amount. You may want to donate individually or make a donation as part of a larger family or workplace group. The board will be updated every 7 – 10 days.
If we should manage to fill the whole board, then we will have raised a massive £5,050! This figure equates to the total cost of providing 101 specialist counselling sessions.
Rest assured that every penny received is used to provide much needed specialist help and support to those bereaved by suicide, across the whole Merseyside area.
If you wish to support us in this venture, please either donate online here, or if you prefer you can post you donations (*) to: Paul’s Place, Beacon Counselling Trust, 263 Townsend Lane, Clubmoor, Liverpool, L13 9DG. (*) Please note any cheques should be made payable to Paul’s Place (BCT). If you wish to make a cash donation or pay directly into our bank, then please send an email, to :paulsplace@beconcounsellingtrust.co.uk and I can assist with that.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe as they will never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money is sent directly to us.
Thank you for your support. x x
