Story
Hi Everybody,
Thanks for visiting the site! I am running the London Marathon this year in support of a charity that really needs some help. I also really need help in fundraising for it.
I will be honest with you. I actually decided to run the Marathon and THEN found my charity. I was volunteering in Hackney at the East London Citizens Advice Bureau. It’s a very downtrodden and poor area. I discovered the Dockland Settlements Charity. It’s not a well-known charity but it does big projects and is worthy of big funding. It’s a wonderful place. It offers community centres and social activities for the children of the people who live there. By raising money for them, we would be ensuring that their services continue, that they can keep up standards and can afford newer equipment. Here is the website should you wish to have a bit of a perusal: http://www.docklandsettlements.org.uk
So I will be running with my very good friend Chrystalla on Sunday 25th April. We’ve been training hard and have had a few setbacks but we're still aiming to run a good time. Again I’d appreciate your support, but also if you want to come and watch and feel a part of it, that would be Great too. Let me know and I can arrange for you to be around friends and in a nice location.
Thank you once again,
Afsha
